Ornate Ghost Pipefish - Thailand, 2006
The ghost pipefish are related to seahorses. If you look at the image sideways you can probably see the resemblance. This little fish was maybe 5 inches long, nose down and camouflaged in the soft coral. The difficulty of this shot was to wait for it to turn so as to see the profile without any branches of the soft coral in the way. While spending a good part of an hour in this endeavor I fell in love with the neighboring White Scorpion Fish.
