Two Gobies and a Shrimp

Two Gobies and a Shrimp - Fiji, 2011

This image depicts a great example of a symbiotic relationship. The red and white shrimp is blind and depends on the gobies for security. While the gobies are on the lookout for predators the shrimp is cleaning out the hole where they all live. One can watch the shrimp go in and out of the hole bringing up small rocks to toss out. While out of the hole the shrimp always has one tentacle touching a goby for security. See also A Pair of Gobies where there may have been a shrimp that I didn't get to see.
