Fire Urchin - Indonesia, 2007
Fire Urchins are named for their red and/or orange color. I like them for their bright color and design. See also Large Fire Urchin. This example had about a 9 inch diameter. Urchins are quite visible when out of the reef during the day. Many more are out of the reef at night and create more of a hazard.
