Bannerfish in Red and Green Soft Coral

Bannerfish in Red and Green Soft Coral - Red Sea, Egypt, 1995

Bannerfish are related to the angelfish, having a pancake-like body. This fish was about 7 inches from mouth to tail but probably only 2 inches from side to side. The gold fish are anthias, which are prolific in the Red Sea and Fiji. They seem to just bounce off the reef. In this image you can also see the depth of the reef structure.
