This solitary sea fan on a coral ledge is host to at least 3 crinoids, which are a primitive kind of starfish. Both the fan and the crinoids feed on the nutrients obtained from the passing current. Although there are small fish in the blue, the little yellow damselfish adds to the simplicity of this image. See also Light Pink Soft Coral with Crinoids.
