Pink Soft Coral Stem - Fiji, 2003
This image is similar to Orange Soft Coral Stem and Light Pink Soft Coral Stem. Here the "stem" has taken on water to create more surface area for the pink bits to absorb nutrients from the water. The white stripes are calcium carbonate which give the coral strength to withstand the currents. This is the last few inches of the type of coral seen in Light Pink Soft Coral with Crinoids.
