Tubeworm Filaments

Tubeworm Filaments - Cozumel, Mexico, 1992

This was my first underwater photograph worth keeping and it is one of my very favorites. Perhaps it should be renamed Social Feather Duster as that is what some people call them. But these beautiful filaments are the feeding apparatus of a worm that we never see as it is in a tube. For other beautiful worm filaments see White Filaments and Red Sponge and Right Angle Christmas Tree Filaments.
